Terms of service

These terms apply when you book a clean with Washing Wheelies. Please read them before you confirm — by submitting a booking you’re agreeing to them.

TODO: confirm legal entity name, company number and registered address before launch.

About us

“We”, “us”, “our” and “Washing Wheelies” refer to the doorstep wheelie-bin cleaning business operating in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey. You can contact us at hello@washingwheelies.co.uk or 01234 567 890.

The service

We collect your bins at the kerbside on or shortly after your council collection day, hot pressure-wash them inside and out, deodorise and sanitise them, and put them back where we found them. All waste water is captured and disposed of at a licensed facility.

We currently serve households and small businesses inside our published coverage area (Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey). Coverage can change — we’ll let you know if we’re no longer able to service your address.

Booking and confirmation

A booking is a request, not a confirmed slot. Once we’ve checked your address against a council collection round, we’ll email to confirm — usually within a few hours. A clean is only scheduled once you have that confirmation.

We may decline a booking — for example if you’re outside our coverage area, if access is unsafe, or if a bin can’t be cleaned to a usable standard.

Pricing and payment

  • Prices on the site are inclusive of VAT for household customers and exclusive of VAT for commercial customers.
  • One-off cleans are charged on the day, by contactless card.
  • Subscriptions are billed by direct debit, the day after each completed clean.
  • Multi-bin discounts are automatic and shown before you confirm.
  • We’ll give 30 days’ notice if we change subscription pricing.

TODO: align with the actual payment processor (e.g. GoCardless) and confirm VAT treatment before launch.

Cancellations and missed cleans

  • You can pause or cancel a subscription at any time, with no notice period and no fee.
  • One-off bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to the day before the clean.
  • If we miss a scheduled clean because of something we did, we’ll come back free of charge at the next available slot.
  • If we can’t clean because the bin was full, blocked, or access was denied, we’ll text you and rebook for your next scheduled day. We may charge a small re-attendance fee for repeated missed visits.

Access

We need safe access to the bin on collection day. Please leave it kerbside or at an access point you’ve told us about. If your bin is behind a locked gate or in a back garden, let us know the access notes when you book.

What we’re not responsible for

  • Pre-existing damage to your bin (cracks, missing wheels, broken lids).
  • Marks left by stickers, paint or other markings that the wash can’t remove.
  • Bins not put out on the correct council collection day.
  • Council collection schedules, missed council collections, or bin replacements.

Our liability

We don’t exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else we’re not allowed to exclude by law. Subject to that, our liability to any one customer is capped at the total fees you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the event.

We’re insured for public liability — let us know if you need a copy of the certificate.

Disputes

If something’s gone wrong, please email hello@washingwheelies.co.ukand we’ll do our best to sort it. If we can’t reach a resolution, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We’ll update this page if we change anything substantive, and we’ll email subscribers in advance for any change that materially affects them.
